[KiniNews] The government this morning cancelled its motion to suspend opposition MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor) from the Dewan Rakyat for alleging Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is a leader who abuses his power.
This comes after the Bersatu lawmaker openly apologised to the prime minister and Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, in the Dewan Rakyat.
Following this, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (BN-Bagan Datuk), who filed for the motion to be heard by the Dewan Rakyat, retracted the proposal.
Meanwhile, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was questioned and had his statement recorded for about an hour by two officers from the Bukit Aman police headquarters today.
This in relation to Hadi’s statement last month which offended the Selangor Sultan, in which he reminded all Muslims to safeguard their faith, including the rulers, whom he said must consider the hereafter and not just worldly interests.
