[KiniNews] Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed claims by the opposition that the government was targeting Dr Mahathir Mohamad with the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on the handling of matters related to the sovereignty of Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks and South Ledge.
Anwar pointed out that the initial special task force formed to investigate the matter was established during the premiership of Ismail Sabri Yaakob and said the narrative of vengeance should not be raised in the issue.
“The special task force was (formed) before me. At the time, Ismail Sabri was the prime minister - with (Larut MP) Hamzah (Zainudin) and (Kota Bharu MP) Takiyuddin (Hassan) as his ministers and their findings were even worse," he said.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, known as Papagomo, was arrested early this morning.
Police confirmed that Wan Azri was arrested at his residence in Putrajaya this morning to assist in the investigation into a case of fraudulent fundraising using the name of a company.
