[KiniNews] Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has accused three members of his 2018 cabinet of “lying” in their account of the Batu Puteh case.
Speaking to reporters today, Mahathir reiterated that he did not unilaterally decide to withdraw Malaysia’s review of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision to award Batu Puteh to Singapore.
He cited a purported copy of the cabinet meeting minutes to prove his point.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, government spokesperson Fahmi Fadzil has reiterated that the appointment of the Sabah governor is at the discretion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, after consultation with the state’s chief minister.
Fahmi said this in response to Muda acting president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz’s criticisms against the government over Musa Aman’s appointment to the Sabah governor post, effective Jan 1.
