[KiniNews] The Court of Appeal has issued an ad interim stay on all proceedings involving a civil suit brought against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim by Yusoff Rawther, who accused him of sexual assault in 2018.
This is after a three-judge panel allowed Anwar's application to put the civil suit on hold pending the disposal of the prime minister's bid to get a full stay.
The hearing on the full stay application has been set for July 21.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, the bus driver involved in the fatal crash on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Gerik, has apologised to the families of the victims and the students involved in the crash.
Blaming the incident on a “sudden brake failure”, the driver reportedly said that the bus’ air system also failed while its handbrake was unresponsive.
