#KiniNews: Dr M slams Anwar’s facts and figures; MCMC investigates influencers' KFC bones video

[KiniNews] Dr Mahathir Mohamad has lashed out at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for suggesting that his sons return their wealth to the government if it was obtained through dubious or illegitimate means.

Labelling Anwar “the amazing liar”, the former prime minister took aim at his successor’s claim that his sons Mokhzani and Mirzan are worth “RM1.2 billion and RM4 billion”.

“Where does he get all these figures and statements?” Mahathir asked, while citing MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki’s statement that Mokhzani had declared assets of approximately RM1 billion, while Mirzan declared RM246.2 million.

He added that the MACC did not state that the sources are ‘unclear or illegitimate’.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, the MCMC has launched an investigation into a viral video showing three influencers handing KFC chicken bones to a homeless man - an act it condemned as exploitative and deeply unethical.

“MCMC views seriously any attempt to create or spread content that exploits marginalised communities for cheap entertainment, online clout, or public provocation,” it said
