[KiniNews] Muhyiddin Yassin (PN-Pagoh) has demanded Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim apologise and retract claims that he had allegedly supported retaining RON95 fuel subsidies for foreigners, calling it “completely untrue”.
Debating the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in the Dewan Rakyat today, Muhyiddin warned Anwar (Harapan-Tambun) that parliamentary immunity does not spare a person from the sin of slander.
“So maybe it was a mistake. It’s not hard for the prime minister to say, ‘Muhyiddin, I was wrong, I apologise.’ Just say that, and it’s settled,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari accused Anwar of power abuse for ordering MCMC to investigate whether Muhyiddin had made the statement.
He said that the action constitutes a serious abuse of executive power, involving political interference in an enforcement body that should act independently.
