#KiniNews: Muhyiddin a victim, not witness, says Bersatu leader; Stop flag hysteria, says Latheefa

[KiniNews] Bersatu information chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has accused the MACC of mischaracterising party president Muhyiddin Yassin’s role in an ongoing investigation implicating him in a statement related to targeted RON95 subsidies.

Insisting that the Perikatan Nasional chairperson is the victim in the case, Tun Faisal rejected MCMC’s classification of Muhyiddin as a “witness” and instead pinned the blame on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Yesterday, MCMC said Muhyiddin was being probed as a witness, not a suspect, as part of its investigation to verify facts surrounding the case.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Lawyers for Liberty co-founder Latheefa Koya has urged politicians to stop what she described as a “flag hysteria” over an upside-down national flag recently flown at a Chinese school in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

Insisting that the incident was an unintentional mistake that has been blown out of proportion, she accused political leaders of exploiting the matter to score patriotic points while victimising innocent parties.
