[KiniNews] The Kuala Lumpur High Court has denied Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s bid to suspend the civil lawsuit brought by Yusoff Rawther, who has accused him of sexual assault.In delivering her ruling today, High Court judge Roz Mawar Rozain also stated that the court had found the eight constitutional questions Anwar had sought to refer to the Federal Court did not meet the required threshold.Anwar has clarified that it was not about seeking personal immunity, but to ensure that high public office is protected from litigation that may be strategically timed, politically motivated, or institutionally disruptive.Meanwhile, in a separate story, Zaid Ibrahim has urged PAS to exhaust all avenues to court former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli and proposed that the party field him in Tambun - the parliamentary seat in Perak held by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.The ex-law minister also encouraged the Islamist party to approach former PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, suggesting that he contest in Bentong, which is DAP MP Young Syefura Othman’s seat.“Both are good leaders, and any political party will find them helpful.
