Education Minister Maszlee Malik has urged a group Reformasi veterans who call themselves Otai Reformis 1998 to accord for Dr Mahathir Mohamad space and time to serve the full term of his premiership.
He said this was to allow the prime minister to carry out reformation plans for the government.
“I am confident the Reformis’ agenda is for change.
“I do not know if their motive is to lift any specific individual, but I am confident those of them who have been crying out ‘reformasi’ since 1998, they want it (change) to take place in the country,” Maszlee said when met by Malaysiakini at University Malaya Medical Centre recently.
Otai Reformis had on Wednesday made a series of calculations on the possibility of cabinet minister Mohamed Azmin Ali becoming the next prime minister with the support of opposition parties Umno and PAS.
